Aqua Fantasy

On September 29, 2012, Ivan woke up at 4:30 am for some reason.  I didn’t wake up until 8 am.

We walked to Denny’s where we each had the vegetarian skillet again.

I packed and worked on the blog while Ivan used the internet.

We boarded the free airport shuttle at 10:30 am.

We had time to spare so we went in search of a pharmacy like a Walgreens – but there wasn’t one in the airport.  It seems rather odd since people want to buy sundries before flying off to a destination.

Ivan set up a shuttle to get us to Port Canaveral.  It picked us up at 11:30 am and it took 30 minutes to get there.

Today, we were starting our 7th honeymoon on a Disney cruise.

The check-in for Disney Fantasy was easy and really fast.

When we boarded the Fantasy, a guy asked our family name.  Then, they said Welcome to the ship The Phillips family!  It was nice to be announced on the ship.

The atrium is beautiful with a peacock on the rug and a beautiful chandelier.

The rooms wouldn’t be ready until 1:30 pm so we had the buffet lunch at Cabanas.  There wasn’t much selection.

At 1:40 pm, we went to put our stuff in the room.  We got an upgrade.  Ivan booked a window room, but we got a room with a balcony.  It must not be that full on the ship.

Ivan and I walked around the ship to check everything out.  The theming is quite good with hints of Mickey around the ship.  It’s fun to find the Hidden Mickeys everywhere.

We saw the Welcome Aboard Show which featured Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Chip & Dale.

Later, we did the mandatory Safety drill which seemed longer than the one we did a few weeks ago on the Carnival Breeze.

Ivan and I put our swimsuits and went on the fun AquaDuck.  The Aquaduck is a fun water ride in a tube that goes around the ship.  It goes fast at first, but slows down at the end which Ivan thinks should be the other way around.

Later, we saw the Fantasy Come True show.  It had some Disney characters which was good.  But, the story followed a family around the Disney Fantasy.  It was a cheesy way of letting us know what was available on the cruise ship.

Ivan went on the AquaDuck 3 times since it was so quiet before dinner.

There’s character appearances throughout the day.  It’s great that you can ask on of the Disney staff to take a picture with your camera.

We met our tablemates who were 3 American couples from Indiana, New Jersey and Arizona.  Tonight, we were sat in Enchanted Garden where the scene changes dusk to night time.  Disney boats have rotational dining where you change restaurants and your servers follow you.

Ivan and I started off with the flavorless lobster ravioli.  Ivan also had the ahi tuna which was cold.  The Heirloom Tomato soup was delicious.  Ivan and I each had the sea bass which was very tasty.  Dessert was a Sacher’s chocolate torte which was only average.

We went to see the show Match Your Mate where married couples compete to see how well they know each other.  Ivan and I only caught some of it before heading back to the room.
