Royal Art

I woke up at 8:45 am on September 30, 2012.  Ivan and Lil Dave were already up and had breakfast.

On the Disney Fantasy, you’re given Wave phones.  The phones are free to use and lets you keep in touch with your family members and friends.

Ivan and I went to the Royal Court.  I had a vegetable crepe and a mango mountain yogurt.  The crepe was good.  The yogurt was really sweet and tasted okay.

Lil Dave went to meet up with a few monkey friends he met on the ship.

I met up with Ivan for the Kinect Wipeout Challenge.  Ivan was the only one in there.  It wasn’t the best game.

We checked out the Disney Animation: Creating a Character.  The teacher Sheikha taught us how to draw Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.  I think my Donald turned out pretty good.

Some of the paintings on the ship move.

Ivan and I did the Muppets version of the Midship Detective Agency.  You go around the ship gathering clues to solve a mystery.  The Muppets version is where you find out who stole a bunch of props.  It’s fun since you get to move things on a pictures to find clues.

You even come across Pepe’s small door.  There’s even a number to call with your Wave Phone.

We relaxed in the room for a bit.

We had lunch at The Royal Court.  If you ask for ketchup and you’re a kid they’ll make a Mickey for you.  We asked them to do a Mickey ketchup for us.

Ivan found a Happy Birthday and a Happy Anniversary pin.  Also, we told the waiter that we were honeymooners and he got us Just Married pins.  You can get a Mickey bar through the restaurants or room service which is a an ice cream treat – filled with vanilla ice cream and covered with chocolate.

Then, we went to Meridian to meet for the free Art of the Theme Show Tour.  The tour guide Sheikah takes the group around the ship and talks about the theming of different rooms or restaurants on the Disney Fantasy.  We stopped at many places like Remy’s, Skyline, The Tube and Ooh La La.

In Meridian, every passport stamp on the wall is unique.

We saw the private room in the back of the restaurant Remy that is like Gusteau’s office with a picture of the kitchen and a window showing Paris.  Sheikah showed us the $10,000 glass Remy from Ratatoutille.

There’s lots of theming with Remy on the chair and on the plates.  We also saw the $25,000 bottle of wine.

Skyline is a bar that shows seven different cities’ skylines including Barcelona, London, Budapest and Athens.  Sheikah said that the imageneers who created it were Star Wars fans.  The people who walk around in the cities are Jedis.

The bathrooms in Europa have mosaic tiles with a flamenco dancer in the women’s bathroom and a bull fighter in the men’s bathroom.

We went to the lovely Ooh La La bar where there is a Jessica Rabbit champagne that’s $200.

This tour is great and very interesting.

Ivan and I were still jetlagged so we took an hour nap.

We went to see the funny Aladdin musical.

Next, we saw the ventriloquist Kevin Johnson.  He’s good at not moving his lips, but the characters lack personality.  Also, he’s not very funny.

Tonight, dinner was in the Royal Court.  Our servers were in royal outfits.  On the walls, there’s pretty mosaic tiles featuring Disney Princesses.

Ivan and I started off with a good goats cheese salad.  Ivan had a cauliflower soup.  Ivan’s tofu and vegetables weren’t good since the tofu was dry.  He got a horseradish encrusted salmon which was overcooked.  My mushroom ravioli was average.

Ivan and I wore the Happy Anniversary and Just Married pins to dinner.  So, one of the servers saw the anniversary pin.  They gave us and one of the other couples a anniversary cake and sang to us.  Ivan and I shared a lovely vanilla crème brulee.

We went to see the illusionist Jason Bishop do some magic which was just okay, so we left early.

We went to Skyline.  The skyline was Barcelona when we arrived, but then quickly changed to the London Skyline.  I looked to see if the people were Jedis like we learned in the tour.  It did look like some were in robes and could be Jedis.  Ivan and I shared a great Aphrodite drink.

Next, we headed to Ooh La La which is the lovely Parisian lounge.  There we shared a nice Pomegranate Passion drink.
