Castaway Juggler

We were already in Castaway Cay when Ivan, Lil Dave and I woke up at 8:45 am on October 5, 2012.   Ivan was going to be doing the 5K run.  I was thinking of doing it, but changed my mind.

We got off the boat at 9:30 am.  The group who were running walked to the starting point.  I read my book on the beach while Ivan was running in the hot sun.

I saw a person coming in from the 5K race.  So, went to wait for Ivan.  Ivan did good finishing 4th.  He got a cute plastic Mickey medal.

Castaway Cay is Disney’s own private island in the Bahamas.

Ivan asked somebody if the food was the same at Serenity Bay which is the Adults Only area.  The guy said yes and there’s more options since you’re vegetarian.  Ivan said How do you know that?  It turned out to be the guy from the Salsa and Salsa class.  At the last moment, a few employees were asked if they wanted to go on the tour.  Good thing he and the girl went on the class, otherwise we wouldn’t have done it.

We got the shuttle to Serenity Bay.  Ivan and I shared a Rum Rudder.

Then, we had the bbq buffet for lunch.

The Serenity Bay beach is very clean and beautiful.  The water is crystal clear blue.

We went in the water and chilled out.  I love lying on my back like I’m floating.  Ivan sat down and read his book to relax his legs.  He hasn’t ran a long distance in a long time, since before we left on our trip in May.

We got the shuttle back.  We went into the water at the beach.  Right next to it, there’s snorkeling with Hidden Mickeys in the water.

Ivan and I went to the Heads Up bar and shared a drink.  Lil Dave had a banana juice.

We walked towards the ship.  It’s great to see the Disney theming around the island.

I saw the Post Office and we went inside.  Ivan wanted to buy a Castaway Cay postcard.  Unfortunately, the post office only sells generic postcards of the Bahamas.  Castaway Cay postcards can be purchased on the Disney Fantasy.

Ivan, Lil Dave and I watched the See Ya Later Show in the Atrium.  Right before this show, the characters make appearances and the lines are really short.

Later, we watched the Unforgettable Journey show which was alright.

We got ready in the room and then went to see Mickey Mouse.  We got a picture with Mickey and then headed to dinner.

Our last dinner was at Animator’s Palate.  We got to create a character and later it would be featured in the show.

The soup was a weird corn soup where you put in caramel popcorn and cornbread on the side.  It was really sweet, so I ate only some of it.

Ivan and I special ordered our main course.  It was a delicious spicy Indian fish curry.  It was the best dish we’ve had on the Disney Fantasy.

The show featured everybody’s characters and they were animated on the tv screens.  Very cool!

After dinner, we headed to The Tube for the Majority Rules show.  Ivan and I didn’t win.  Again there wasn’t a prize given out for the winner.

The awesome juggler Mike Price came on next.  He was so very talented and funny.  I wish I caught him the other day.

Ivan and I headed back to the room where I packed some of my stuff.
